Managing pharma recruitment

Case study – Life Science PAI-13-1

PAI Pharma, a pharmaceutical manufacturer, was juggling an outdated Applicant Tracking System (ATS) with thousands of unreviewed candidates, misaligned headcount targets, an undefined interview & onboarding process and overly complex vendor management. These issues impeded efficient and standardized talent acquisition. Identifying the need for change, PAI Pharma sought HTI as their RPO partner to restructure and organize their hiring process.

Project goals

  • Update ATS and candidate communications
  • Establish a strategic approach to prioritize & approve headcount targets
  • Create a structured interview & onboarding process
  • Assess & manage vendor contracts

Our solution

HTI consulted with each of PAI Pharma’s hiring departments to align openings with approved headcounts, developing a requisition log for prioritized recruitment. We also updated the hiring process to involve production leaders, providing them input & influence into their growing team. Our team then organized PAI Pharma’s ATS, sifting through over 4,000 unreviewed candidates to identify viable talent and provide feedback to job seekers. Additionally, we centralized the candidate pool to facilitate internal communication & coordination, allowing for candidate management across various departments. HTI then organized trainings & guides for hiring managers to develop a structured interview & onboarding process. Furthermore, we evaluated PAI Pharma’s vendor relationships, standardized contracts, and negotiated terms to simplify management.

PAI Pharma also needed 12 highly skilled technicians within 12 weeks and 45 new hires for their direct labor team. So our recruiters & marketing specialists coordinated hiring events – including the complete management of print & digital advertising and media buying with our in-house design team, tenured event staff and HTI Job Mobile. Our collective recruitment efforts fortified their workforce with timely new hires, while setting PAI Pharma apart from competing job openings.

  • Developed a requisition log for headcount prioritization
  • Created a centralized candidate pool
  • Executed hiring events & marketed open positions
